Just Dance Traque
Directed by Joffrey MonteiroNoël Vadim Alsayed Director of Photography Vadim Alsayed Music by Maxence Dussère A 16mm portrait of an improvised dance through the woodland French director Joffrey MonteiroNoël and director of photography Vadim Alsayed talk about the film they codirected, which sees model and dancer Adrien Dantou perform a responsive dance to a soundtrack by composer Maxence Dussère: Through this film, we wanted to question movement and fixedness. We assume that any movement springs like an echo from another one. Therefore we wanted the dance, which is movement as much as nonmovement, to be caused and modulated by an external forcelike a wave. We assume that any movement springs like an echo from another one We limited ourselves to using only two rolls of 16mm filmonly 22min of rushes in total. This constraint suited our formal quest for steadiness in frames and characters. We wanted the form to strongly participate in the meaning as well as the action itself.
