Swollen puppy: Juvenile Cellulitis

This cute blue pit was the runt of the litter. After vaccinating it s face and nodes became very swollen. A swollen face can be due to a skin infection, abscess, demodex mange, and bee sting. However the large glands or lymph nodes told me it was juvenile cellulitis. This syndrome occurs when the immune system over reacts to drugs, chemicals, or infections and the face swells up. Fortunately, most pups respond to doxycycline and prednisone.
