Testing the Waters Copic Marker Illustration

This was originally a small doodle I made in class. I was attempting to draw a foot in slight perspective and then suddenly I was adding a leg, then the other leg, and the drawing just developed from there. Then I photocopied it to enlarge it, and traced it onto marker paper. I was trying to challenge myself to draw a full body with a sense of motion, expression (other than the smiling dolllike expression I tend to default to), some perspective and foreshortening, as well as a full background. So I think I proved to myself that I am capable of taking my skill level up a notch or two if I put in more effort. I am really proud of the way this turned out.
