QZS 1 R launch

Mitsubishi Heavy Industriess HIIA Launch Vehicle No. 44 (HIIA f4) launched the QZS1R satellite from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex, at JAXAs Tanegashima Space Center, Japan, on 26 October 2021, at 02:19:37 UTC (11:19:37 Japan Standard Time, JST). QZS1R (みちびき初号機後継機) will replace the QuasiZenith Satellite1 MICHIBIKI (QZS1, 準天頂衛星) in Japans Quasizenith Satellite System (QZSS) providing positioning signals in mountainous and urban regions in Japan.
