PLEIN AIR landscape OIL PAINTING
Painting a landscape en plein air in oils overlooking Carrick Roads, Cornwall. It was late morning and I found a superb location (after eating my Cornish pasty ) with a view over the Fal River towards St Just in Roseland. The shadows cast by the January low morning sun, gave a lovely cool contrast to the warmer greens on the grass. The leafless Winter trees along the hedgerow gave me a great view through to the bright blue water. I enjoyed painting this on location with my oil paints, despite several distractions. It was a glorious winter day with bright colours. This painting will feature in my solo exhibition at Royal Cornwall Museum taking place July December 2022. The theme is the Carrick Roads. From Falmouth to Truro. More to follow on Let me know what you think in the comments section. Bye for now Andrew
