If your debut album is as good as Applause, it must be damn scary to release your second album, especially if you know that the second album is quite different than your highly succesful debut album. Balthazar was in this situation until today. Their debut album Applause was a great album from beginning to end filled with fun jittery indie songs. Their second album Rats is something pretty different, but luckily it s tremendously good. The album sounds more mature and more finished than Applause did
