Stallion Show (1955)
Derby, Derbyshire. L, S of horses being exercised at a racehorse stables. M, S of horses being led past the camera. The narrator poses the question: what happens to that prince of sporting animals the horse at the end of its career M, S of a group of people leaning on a barrier watching the horses being led past. Most of them are studying a pamphlet they hold in their hands. M, S of a horse being groomed in a yard. This is the annual Thoroughbred Stallion show. Another horse is groomed. L, S of the horses being shown the horses include 13 year old Kingstone Her Majesty the Queen s horse. Horses are judged on health, appearance and mobility. Various shots of judges and horses. This competition is organised by the Hunters Improvement and National Light Horse Breeding Society. The Society President is the Duke of Gloucester. He watches Kingstone, entered from Sandringham, carry off a prize in his class. The King George V Cup for champion stallion of the show goes to Court Nez. Various shots
