2 G Robotics Laser Scanner Documenting Previously Unseen WWII German U boat
2G Robotics, in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), boarded a submarine to boldly descend into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean to document a WWII battlefield that had never before been seen by human eyes. This battlefield was only recently discovered in 2014 off the coast of North Carolina. At a depth of 700 feet, the site is too deep for divers to explore. 2G Robotics newest and longest range underwater laser scanner, the ULS500 PRO, was mounted to the submarine
