Commander Byrd. Location of events unknown. 1927 ( ) Commander (later Admiral) Richard Byrd on visit to France; c. 1920s. He arrives at government building. Byrd and others appear on balconies; French and US flags flying. B. in doorway; meeting people as he exits building; shaking hands; etc. as he other men head toward automobile. Byrd others coming out a different doorway. Car driving away from old building which has many tall windows w, shutters. Next; small crowd gathered round an oldlooking aeroplane which may have wrecked . It is raining hard and people are huddled under the wings. CUs of the craft which looks as if it is tied together w, ribbons and strings. Finally; aviators and others walk out into courtyard. Some of them posing; one man holding up a battered sack.
