Heron (1970) For You
From their self titled album HERON (DNLS 3010), released in 1970. Heron is an English folk group founded in 1967. Roy Apps, Gerald Moore, Tony Pook and Steve Jones forms the lineup. They met back in Maidenhead folk club. Messing about with pennywhistles, flutes, violins, half a bongo, .. Their experiments with sound all lead to a deal with Dawn label. Heron didnt enjoy the studio experience so they decide to record a complete album out in a field by the river Thames. A self titled album HERON (DNLS 3010), released in 1970. Later a second album Twice As Nice Half The Price (DNLS 3025) was made. This second album from 1971 was originally released as a double album at the price of one. Like the first album, it was again recorded outdoors, this time outside a Devon country cottage, which gives the album an unique atmosphere.
