How To Draw Heads in Proportion Freehand, , Using the Nose to Check Your Proportions
In this Loomis Method Monday Ep 4 we learn how to draw heads in different angles and check their proportions. Example: First draw the circle for the head then find the Cross of the Face. Next divide the face into Thirds. From there we continue on through the steps in constructing the head. Tip: Use the location of the nose tip to fine tune proportions. Working from line 4 off of plate 7 in the Loomis book (PDF Book Link below) Doing these types of head drawings is a great way to learn to draw faces faster and with understanding of the fundamental head structure. The best way to learn is to try it yourself.
