White Raven

An extremely rare white raven (Corvus corax ) watches traffic pass by in midtown Anchorage, Alaska. The raven owes its distinct look to leucism, a condition that results from a loss of pigmentation due to an absence of cells that produce melanin. Scientists report that a bird has a roughly 1 in 30, 000 chance of being born with the condition.
