The Guess Who Friends of Mine
The fourth track from the Guess Who s 1968 LP, Wheatfield Soul. Friends of Mine is an extremely strange track. The tune is an obvious attempt to sound like Cummings then idol, Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Doors. The song s vocal riffs are almost identical to that of The Doors When the Music s Over. That song also most likely gave Cummings the idea to make Friends of Mine a long song ( When the Music s Over clocks at 10:57). None the less, Friends of Mine is a great tune, and remains a favorite by Guess Who fans. The song is even considered a tad scary by some courses for courses. Composer(s): Bachman, Cummings Performer(s): The Guess Who Producer(s): Jack Richardson
