The spring of 1785 was hectic for Mozart in Vienna. He welcomed a string of students in the spacious but often untidy flat at Domgasse 5 in central Vienna. Further to that, he arranged his own subscription series of concerts including new piano concertos. At the first of these he played the dramatically dark No 20 in D Minor.
