Rapper Busdriver (Regan J. Farquhar) is the son of the screenwriter for the film Krush Groove so from a young age Busdriver was exposed to hiphop. By the age of 13 he had his first recorded hiphop album with the group 4, 29. He was a regular at the Project Blowed open mic and has guest stared on many underground artists records. His first solo album Memoirs of the Elephant Man was released in 2001 kicking off a career that quickly increased his popular, peaking when his song Imaginary Places was featured
