Vocals once again kindly provided by my mom. This is a traditional Sephardi song from AlAndalus. The Sephardi Jews are an ethnic subdivision of the Jewish people defined by those having historically inhabited Iberia during the MiddleAges. Jews were an active, prolific and important minority in AlAndalusHaïm Zafrani says, in his book Jews of Andalusia and the Maghreb, that Indeed, as in so many other areas of Andalusian culture and society, Jews have played an important role in the evolution and preservation of the musical heritage of AlAndalus throughout its history.
