Swords shields VS short spears HEMA team melee fights

We were requested to pit a team of sword and shield people against a team of short spear people. Short spears were popular in the latemedieval period and are far better for fighting in confined spaces or in armour than long spears. Long spears would be at a disadvantage in this context and are actually easier to fight against with a sword because they are slower.
