Julia Udine: US Tour v. Broadway

Julia is rather unique in that she is a Christine that we have good documentation of in two very different versions of Phantom. And she is an actress who really was able to give two different interpretations of Christine. Having seen her in both the tour and Broadway, it was fascinating how she had a very youthful and energetic performance in the tour and then seemed more matured and developed when it came to the original staging. I clipped scenes from both productions to show that difference because I think it s really fascinating and shows the range in her acting. The first video in each scene set is from the tour, as that is where she first began as Christine. The second is from her first run on Broadway. Julia started as principal in the Restaged US Tour from 201314. She then joined Broadway as principal in December 2014 and remained so until June 2016. She was meant to return to the tour for a bit in 2016, but had to leave due to an injury. She rejoined the Broadway compan
