The French Indian War, THE SNOWSHOE COMPANIES 1745 1763

The Snowshoe Companies of New England were formed just prior to the French and Indian War. The purpose for many Snowshoe companies much like Harmons Snowshoemen; was to patrol and protect New England frontier towns from hostile Native tribes as well as the French during the war.
