This summer concert given by the Berliner Philharmoniker at Berlins Waldbühne features an exquisite program of popular pieces including Ravels Boléro, Saties Gymnopedie, SaintSaëns Le Carnaval des animaux with the outstanding Labèque sisters, and the traditional final song Berliner Luft by Paul Lincke. The Waldbühne Concert of the Berliner Philharmoniker is similar to the Proms In The Park in the UK one of the most popular outdoor classical music events in Germany. This concert from 2005 stands out in recent years for its fine program, the subtle playing of the soloists, and Simon Rattles energetic pacing of his forces.
