Germany: Rescuer shares details of self immolation attempt by transsexual in Berlin
Subscribe to our channel One of witnesses and a rescuer described a selfimmolation attempt by an alleged transsexual person in central Berlin on Tuesday. At first I thought something was set on fire, like books were burned or newspapers or something else. It took me a second or two and then I realized it was a person. And then I tried to reach my colleague as quickly as possible, and ran to Deutsche Bahn info stand while calling, I grabbed the fire extinguisher, ran back to the victim, pulled the seal on the way and then put out the fire with the powder extinguisher, said Sven Mahdi who works for Deutsche Bahn. Referring to reports that victim was a transsexual, Berlin police spokesperson Michael Gassen said: She had an ID with her that had a woman s name on it, so for us she is a woman at the age of 40. He also confirmed that the victim did that intentionally, saying that without prior notice the woman poured a gasoline canister filled with gasoline over herself and lit herself.
