Desert Glass
Film by Tyler Hulett. Mirrors reveal that hidden just outside the frame of each Eastern Oregon time lapse isn t a swarm of tourists but open skies and magnificent landscapes. May America s high desert region long remain this way. Though Oregon may be famous for rain and tall trees to many locals the state s true soul can be found in these rugged juniper and sagebrush deserts east of the Cascade Mountains. All scenes in this film were shot near Mitchell, OR and the Painted Hills using actual mirrors not animated effects. This project also taught a filmmaker that lugging mirrors around in the desert is best saved for months cooler than July.
