Invitation to Happiness (1939) Irene Dunne Fred Mac Murray

Albert King Cole (Fred MacMurray) is a promising young boxer with an enterprising manager, Pop Hardy (Charles Ruggles), who wants to sell an interest in Cole s upandcoming career to a wealthy businessman. Cole s boastful, arrogant manner infuriates the businessman s daughter, Eleanor (Irene Dunne), at first, but she soon falls for him in spite of herself. Ten years later, they are married with a son, but their relationship starts to crack under the strain of Cole s ambition.
