Released in January 2001 it was Ashs fourth Top 10 Light saw Tim Wheeler awarded with an Ivor Novello and consolidated Ashs reputation for a run of extraordinary singles. Drawing inspiration from Jack Kerouacs On The Road, Shining Light won the Irish Music Best Single Award and has since been covered by Annie Lennox for her greatest hits and live by Coldplay. The video was directed by Tim Wheelers cousin Darren Tiernan. Tim went through David Blaine style torture as he was submerged for the guts of a day in this water tank. Shining Light was closing song of the last episode of science fiction TV series Roswell and has featured in Channel 4s Teachers.
