Whatever you do, don t say the Chinese word Na ge out loud

In Mandarin Chinese, the word for that bears an unfortunate resemblance to a wellknown racial slur. This was enough to get a professor from the University of Southern California suspended, after black students complained that hearing him use the Chinese expression was indicative of a much more hurtful word with tremendous implications for the Black community.
