Mariana Trench 8145m New Snailfish

Video footage from the University of Aberdeens HadalLander deployed in the Mariana Trench from the Schmidt Ocean Institutes Research Vessel Falkor. This video shows the accumulation of small scavenging amphipods (Crustaceans, or hoppers) at 8145m deep. Amongst the scavenging amphipods is a new species of what is believed to be a snailfish (Liparidae).
