Master Aki Kenji lives in Gifu Prefecture (Japan), born in a family who has grown bamboo plants for several generations. His Fukuroshinai are musthaves in many Yagyu Shinkage Ryu Dojos throughout Japan. It was an honor to welcome him at our office for a Fukuroshinai leather fitting training, as well as a short history of modern Fukuroshinai and a manufacturing lesson. A Fukuroshinai is a piece of bamboo partially cut lengthwise in a decreasing number of slats from the tip, covered with a genuine leather case, allowing more intense training than with a wooden weapon. Better shock absorption also means greater impact resistance. PRODUCT IN THIS VIDEO Hakuryu Shuryu Deluxe Yagyu
