Earlier this week, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace launched her bid to become the next Governor of the Palmetto State. Rep. Mace has previously called out weak leadership in South Carolina and said it is one of the reasons behind her run. Mace and longtime South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson are considered the frontrunners in a crowded GOP primary field in the 2026 race. Both are working to succeed the termlimited Republican Gov. Henry McMaster, who is South Carolina s longestserving governor.
