112 m AQUA from SINOD YACHT DESIGN fuel cell (hydrogen) powered ( Not bought by Bill Gates)
Sinot Yacht Design Architecture is in the news with this design for several reasons. First its radical new 112meter superyacht concept called AQUA is powered by fuel cell technology that on yachts means hydrogenpowered. This is not a new power source. In fact, when I worked at Blohm+Voss and we owned the HDW shipyards that built Paul Allens Octopus for Lurssen, that shipyard was building fuelcell powered submarines for the German navy. This combustionfree power generation process creates electricity that is virtually absent of pollutants. But the second reason this vessel is in the news is that some nitwit announced that Bill Gates had put in an order for this vessel to be built by Oceanco in Holland, and that turned out to be just a rumor. Aquahas been developed for the forwardthinking owner with a futuristic design that features a 360degree viewing capsule and wheelhouse up top. On the the bow is an area they call the Aqua room.
