Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Title: O ER HILL DALE. First pictures of a Hound Trial almost as popular as horse racing in the North of England. C, U of two beagles straining at their leads. M, S of several beagles on leads they sniff around the ground, wagging their tails excitedly. L, S of a crowd of people standing on one side of a field, a boy runs past dragging what appears to be a piece of meat on string, all at once a dozen or so beagles are released from the crowd, they run towards the camera. Intertitle: The dogs find and follow an aniseed trail for 10 miles and cover the course in under half an hour M, S of several dogs sniffing around bushes and a dry stone wall before clambering over a ditch. L, S of several dogs chasing across a picturesque meadow. M, S of a group of dog owners calling encouragement to their animals one woman seems particularly enthusiastic; she waves her arms and shouts. L, S of the dogs coming down a steep hill.
