Saúl Álvarez Barragán (born July 18, 1990), better known as Canelo Álvarez, is a Mexican professional boxer who is a fourdivision world champion. He was born on the outskirts of Guadalajara, at the age of 5 his family moved to their current home of Juanacatlán. As unique child he garnered the nickname Canelo ; the Spanish masculine word for cinnamon, which is a common nickname for people with red hair.
