How to Make a Chair, Episode 8: BENT LAMINATION
Episode 8: In this episode I use a technique called bent lamination to glue a number of wood strips together to make a curved bow. These finished bows will become the arms and legs of the final chair. In the previous episode I steamed the strips of wood to make them flexible enough to bend into this shape. I designed and fabricated the original Bow Spring Chair as part of a furniture making workshop at Harvard and MIT in 2014.
