Poor Wayfaring Stranger ( Acoustic Folk Worship), By Hart Morris, Cover by Rachel Nathan Durbin
I love this classic American folk song, Poor Wayfaring Stranger I first learned of it as an art song during my classical singing days, but recently my husband sent me a much more bluesy version that had gotten his attention. As with many folk songs, there are a lot of different versions of the lyrics (some more faith oriented than others), but my husband sent it to me on the day I was singing through Psalm 69, and verses 7 8 practically jumped off the page at me, For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonor has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother s Sometimes we might feel like strangers in this world, overwhelmed by the problems we face. But if we place our Hope in Jesus, we can look forward to that place with no sickness, toil nor danger, where we can sing His praise forevermore Poor Wayfaring Stranger By Hart Morris Follow me on social media: www. f
