Animals In The Snow (1963)
Nice film of the animals at Chessington Zoo coping with the snowy conditions. M, S of a cat jumping through the deep snow, it meows a few times, followed by a shot of a model village covered in snow (it looks quite picturesque). Various shots of many different animals at the zoo. We see a group of rodents huddling together to protect themselves from the cold (they are Coypu, Coypus according to Pathe animal expert Steve Rutland SL), seals swim in the icy looking water. A tiger looks very out of place as it walks through the snow. We also see camels, lions, zebras, flamingos and a polar bear that looks slightly more at home with the conditions. Outside the zoo wee see more shots of wild animals. A women feeds bread to seagulls and a pigeon. A man bends down in the snow and holds out hay or straw to a young stag, while other deer can be seen in the background. M, S of cows including Highland cattle being fed straw and a sheep is rescued from the snow by a farmer who picks the sheep up, flings her over
