DRUM LESSON: Left Foot Independence
NEW LESSON, COVER EVERY WEEK In today s lesson we ll be working on some left foot independence. We ll mainly be playing either quarter or eighth notes, but placing them on all the different divisions of the sixteenth notes. Downbeats, Upbeats, E s and A s. Towards the end I ll show you a rhythm and concept that gets a bit more advanced. This lesson can be difficult if you re not used to involving your left foot in your playing, and have mainly been using it just to open the hihat. Take your time with each exercise looping it over and over and over, at a slow tempo, and make sure you get comfortable with it.
