Boy Horseman Aka Boy Rider (1958)
Pyecombe, Sussex. M, S of some donkeys in a pen eating hay, a small boy runs up to them and climbs up the side to get a better view. C, U of the boy s profile, he is Graham Barnett aged 5, he grabs a cowboy hat from the side of the pen and puts it on. M, S from behind the donkeys of Graham running round and opening the door to the pen, he goes in and herds the donkeys to one side. M, S of Graham hitting the donkeys with a stick. L, S of a farmyard, the donkeys come out of the gate and the instructor Arthur Williams aged 30 wearing a flat cap, closes the gate behind them, Graham is stood by him. M, S following a donkey across the yard, some stables are visible in the background. M, S of the donkeys milling about, Arthur grabs hold of one called Garryowen and lifts Graham onto its back, it sets off at a trot and the camera follows it. L, S of Graham riding round on the donkey and hitting it with a stick. He rides back towards the farmyard. M, S of his brother Tony who is 12, watching him from the side.
