Part of the UK has turned into an ocean Crazy rain flooded Scotland
Forecasters said the bomb cyclone that sent US temperatures plummeting over Christmas is causing unsettled weather in the UK. The Scottish Environment Agency has issued 10 flood warnings and 34 warnings across Scotland. On Friday, the movement of trains in the western, eastern and central parts of the country was seriously disrupted due to flooding on key routes. The weather also resulted in the closure of sections of the M9 and M74 motorways. In Glasgow, part of Pollock Park was flooded after the local river overflowed its banks. There was a severe flood in Edinburgh Park. Flights from Edinburgh Airport were delayed on Friday evening after the Almond River in Gogarburn overflowed its banks and flooded the runway. The River Nith in Dumfries also overflowed its banks. Yellow warnings for heavy rain, strong winds, snowfall and flooding are in effect from midnight across most of Scotland.
