Something For The Youngsters The Super Hiker (1932)

Introductory intertitle reads: Every boy today loves a hike, but great are the arguments about suitable kit. John Carbeth Wells, who at the age of 21 has hiked across Britain, China, Africa, Japan, Malaya and shows the youngsters his version of the right hiking L, S of a horse drawn carriage moving towards the camera along a country lane. The carriage passes a hiker he waves his stick at the passengers. The hiker arrives in a field where a group of young boys (possibly boy scouts) sit around in a circle waiting to meet him. He takes off his knapsack to show the boys what he carries with him on his trips around the world. He pulls out a government blanket, a little cook pot, tin plate, frying pan, billy can, paraffin stove, a woolly balaclava helmet and woolly scarf (he puts these on to demonstrate), electric searchlight lamp and last but not least a gramophone Shots of the boys listening intently are intercut with shots of John unpacking his backpack.
