Tubnik (1961)
Brief M, S of the Motorised Bath from CP 269, driving along a street in Kingston, Surrey; commentator tells us this bath caused a sensation when it was featured in Pictorial. At Piddinghoe Lake in Newhaven, East Sussex, we see M, S of a large group of students from Brighton walking along the grass. At the head of the group some young men carry a bathtub on their shoulders. Setting it down on the grass, the men fit a steel joist to the underside as a keel while the other students (mostly male with goatee beards) watch. M, S of a bearded student, Allan Witt, tying on his lifejacket; he also wears a sou wester hat. M, S of students crowding round to watch as one of their pack, Mike Cohen, paints Tubnik I on the inside of the bath and the taps are fitted.
