30 Day American Phonetic Challenge, Day 30: Flap T, ɾ
Hey there and welcome to Day 30, the last one of this whole challenge. And its time for the flap t, ɾ, sound. This is a typical American English sound which sounds a bit like the sound, R, found in Russian or Spanish, and appears: when T, TT, D or DD are in between two vowels (water, ladder), before a dark L (riddle, little), after R (party, dirty) my bad I said before and in TY, DY endings (city, daddy). But not when a T begins a stressed syllable (attach, retain). 1. A lot of cities got a load of dirty kitties. 2. The water matter made our daughter madder. 3. The waiter waited and later sat and made it. 4. It ll belittle the partying beetle. 5. Daddy had better get her whatever letter. Support the challenge, leave a like, and a comment.
