Professional Trans Athlete Comes Out Against Trans Women In Women s Sports

In the late 1970s a competitive men s tennis player named Renee Richards transitioned from male to female. She then sued and won the right to participate in women s tournaments, later becoming a highly competitive professional despite being in her 40s. Today, however, Richards says she regrets forcing her way into womens sports and believes that trans women should not follow her lead. Jimmy notes that in todays charged political environment Richards would be called a transphobe, a bigot and probably a white supremacist for objecting to trans women competing in women s sports.
