Adrian Underhill Demand High 2
International House Directors of Studies Conference 2013. Adrian Underhill was kindly sponsored by Macmillan Education. Part of the activity of academic leadership is enabling and coaching teachers to optimize their performance so they feel fully engaged and successful in challenging their learners, and in expecting and demanding the highest quality of learning that their students are capable of. Are we challenging the full learning potential of the students in our classes Might our learners be capable of much more than we (or they) imagine possible Would it be possible to offer a greater number of challenging but doable demands to each of them How can we recognise if our classrooms are places of high and appropriate demand or of routinised low demand what can we do about it
