Pastors want their churches open in Ontario
As most provinces across Canada ease into Phase 1 of reopening businesses and organizations one group feels they have been left out of the process. Two Ontario pastors, Joe Boot and Aaron Rock have written an open letter asking the Premier of Ontario to let Churches reopen their doors by June. Over 400 pastors have agreed, and signed the petition. On Saturday, May 16, premier Doug Ford made an amendment to the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act by allowing Drivein church meetings, a decision that came almost 24 hours after having a virtual round table conversation with denominational heads and pastors but for pastors Boot and Rock, they say, they are, offended, and they want their doors open completely. Maggie John spoke with both pastors to hear why.
