Grade Level: 35 Curriculum: Fine Arts Visual Arts, Science For more information on products used in this lesson plan video, go to: as it has all of the dies used in the project. Description: Students will likely flip out over their handmade thaumatrope. A thaumatrope illustrates animation of two images. Because of persistence of vision when you turn the thaumatrope, you will see both images at once. Discussing animation and how it works through the persistence of vision helps explain how motion pictures are made. The eye holds on to an image while a new image is also registering when turning a thaumatrope.
