Fearless Female Soldiers Are Transforming Ukraine s Military for the Better

Historically, men have dominated the Ukrainian military. But positive changes in gender equality began to appear after the start of Russias war in eastern Ukraine. Since 2014, more women have been joining the fight. Currently, there are nearly 24, 000 women serving in the armed forces and at least 55, 600 working in the military.
