Technology center for surge protection opens Phoenix Contact

Phoenix Contact has opened a highcurrent test laboratory in Blomberg, Germany. The companys TRABTECH research center covers 86, 000 square feet and houses laboratories capable of stimulating lightning currents or surge currents of 100, 000 or 200, 000 A. These laboratories operate on a realistic network, able to drive shortcircuit currents of up to 50, 000 A to test objects.
