Animals Being Bros
Toe is now nearly 6 weeks old and swimming every day, so I decided it was time for him to meet my other Call ducks, Tik and Tak. First, Toe was allowed to swim in the bath for half an hour on his own before introducing Tik and Tak. Toe was very nervous at first, which is completely normal. He was so nervous that at one point, he even tried to climb out the bath but very quickly, he calmed down remaining cautious. By contrast, Tik and Tak showed no interest in Toe at all which is an excellent sign for them accepting him. They swam together for over an hour without an incident. Based on this first meeting, I hope they will be able to live together in another week. Ducks can be territorial, so it is best to introduce new members in a neutral area. After meeting on neutral territory a few times, they can be introduced to the main coop. This should be done a few hours a day, and they should not left unattended.
