S3 E24 Caring: The Crucial Infrastructure of Human Life Biden s 2 trillion dollar American Jobs Plan includes a 400 billion dollar commitment to support America s care economy. This plan lifts the salaries of America s badly underpaid domestic workers, home health aides, nurses aides, children s daycare workers, preschool teachers, caretakers for the elderly and disabled, food providers, and many others in essential but low paid jobs. What these crucial workers share is that they are overwhelmingly women and women of color. Capitalists have exploited women s inferior gender position to profit from their unpaid and poorly paid labor. This plan addresses those class, gender issues.
