M, S of a large crowd wearing summer clothes sitting on the grass by the boating lake at Butlin s Holiday Camp in Clacton, Essex on a hot summer s day; M, S of a large comedian man wearing a white Butlins hat sitting in the crowd and blowing up a rubber ring, while a lady next to him in sunglasses and summer dress looks on and laughs. M, S of two middleaged women in sun hats and a man looking on. M, Ss of the large man getting into a kind of kayak canoe with the ring round his neck, as a smaller man in sailor suit gets in the front with an oar; two girls in the crowd watching and laughing; commentator says boating lake at this Clacton holiday camp is not more than a few inches deep; but just the same, at the weekly regattas held on it, anything goes, and the contestants do well to finish the course, let alone win.
