Felix Dreyschock Etude in g minor
Let s start 2021 with a gorgeous totally forgotten gem, shall we :) I was immediately captured by the great melody in the right hand, with its uncertainties, going up a little, then down again, it just sounds interesting and very delicate and controlled, very serious. I don t know why, but it just gives me goosebumps The marking Moderato instead of some Allegro also shows that he knew what is up with this piece. It doesn t have to be rushed, although it s an etude. This is probably the first performance of this piece, in fact, I couldn t find ANY performance AT ALL of a Felix Dreyschock piece on the whole of YouTube. What a shame Interestingly, the publisher is Rozycki I played some compositions of him already: Krakowiak Intermezzo Note the quality was not so good, might have to replay it. .. But they are recordings.
